Chris Bunton

Name: Chris Bunton

Creative practice/s: Actor, Performer and Dancer

State: NSW

Do you identify as disabled and/or Deaf and/or with disability?

YES

Why do you do what you do?

I love acting, dancing and facilitating workshops. Acting gives me the opportunity to be involved in the film industry, meeting fabulous actors, working alongside industry professionals and being treated equally. Dancing gives me the opportunity to share my creative ideas with others and have them include in the final work. Besides that, I am learning from industry professionals. It is all great fun.

What are you looking for?

I am looking for a fully inclusive arts industry, so that we have the same opportunity like anyone else

What’s still with you from the workshops? What do you remember?

I remember that I was demonstrating movement pieces for warming up, and also teaching some phrases which we performed in front of each other.

What’s the legacy for you - creatively or with contacts?

I think my legacy is to be creative and share my creative side. Also, I like to collaborate with industry professionals and learn from them.

What makes a good workshop for you?

A good workshop is well structed, organised and has systems in place where facilitators, dancers and other participants get the chance to show their creative side. But most of all facilitators provide well designed and planned activities were everyone gets involved.

The arts industry and you - how do you feel about where you are professionally? Where would you like to be?

I am an actor, dancer and sometimes I am a facilitator in the dance industry. It would fantastic if I had more time for all of these.
