YES

Statement about practice:

I do what I do because I love it and it makes me feel happy inside. I have been dancing (ballet/ modern) and playing the piano since I was young. I sing in my locale choir called Grassroots. Currently I am acting with a disabilities drama group called boilover. We are performing in the 2019 Melbourne Fringe Festival in a production called ‘Into Me See’. This all gives me a chance to express myself and connect with others more deeply than I could otherwise.

What are you looking for?

I would love it if there was more funding and opportunities for ‘supported’ creatives classes and performances. The other film festival and our groups chance to perform in the Fringe Festival are example of this.

What’s still with you from the workshops? What do you remember?

I remember that it was fun. I was able to move and express myself in many different ways. This has helped me with my current performance in ‘Into Me See’ with Boilover.

What’s the legacy for you - creatively or with contacts?

Through contacts from the workshop I went to a disability course in making a film which was presented at the Other Film Festival in 2018.

What makes a good workshop for you?

I like a workshop that is fun and relaxed.

The arts industry and you - how do you feel about where you are professionally? Where would you like to be?

I would like them to be more inclusive with opportunities for people who need continuous support.
